COUNTRY Index: Americans' Financial Security Sentiments Rebound
Bloomington, Ill., June 17, 2008 – In a counterpoint to the current economic environment, the COUNTRY Financial Security Index SM jumped 1.5 points to 69.3 in June. Americans say they are feeling better about their ability to save and pay debts. After steadily declining for the past six months, the June Index came in at its highest reading since October 2007.

Bloomington, Ill., May 20, 2008 — As another class of college students graduates with enormous student loan debt, parents are also feeling the pinch. Three–quarters of Americans say the cost of higher education will limit where their children can go to college, according to a COUNTRY Financial survey. And even though most say they should start saving early for college, few take advantage of plans which could save them thousands of dollars.
